Transforming images into tiles
An innovative new tile design process provides the opportunity for Solus Ceramics to reproduce custom designs such as images from clients own digital photography or digital designs and print them onto the surface of a high quality tile.
This process has already been used to transfer a tropical rainforest waterfall image into a bathroom suite mural and a photograph of grass has been used to transform a stone patio into tiled grassland.
At present Solus Ceramics can supply fully printed tiles sized from 10x10cm to 45x45cm. Tiles can be printed with a satin or glossy finish.
Tiles are printed, glazed and fired at high temperatures allowing them to be used in both interior and exterior situations and on walls and floors. They are frost proof and water proof, unaffected by UV and are chemical resistant. The imagery will remain permanently clear and vivid for life.
The process is streamlined and can move from approved artwork to finished print in approximately four weeks.
Solus Ceramics can provide exact colour matches for repair and renovation projects, such as when tiles have been damaged and cannot be reproduced cost effectively using the original production methods.
Stephen Baker, Solus Ceramics Sales Director, said: “Our clients are always looking for ways in which they can stand out from the crowd, and do something that can elevate a project. This process puts design firmly in their hands.”
Solus Ceramics offers full technical support, image proofing and assistance, design support and samples.
