Vanessa Brady, Society of British Interior Design (SBID)

Vanessa Brady
Vanessa Brady is an award winning Interior Designer and Business Design Consultant. Through running her own successful construction company and over twenty five years in the sector, she is able to offer a wealth of experience in procurement, post analysis, and consultancy advice to clients.
 
Vanessa is also the founder and President of the Society of British Interior Design (SBID), the largest professional membership organisation in Europe. She is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA)
 

 

Will Alsop, All Worldwide

Will Alsop
Will Alsop is a prominent architect and founder of ALL Design, and works on large-scale urban planning and design initiatives. 
 
Will has specialized in large-scale master plans and regeneration projects for boroughs and districts in Almere, Rotterdam, Groningen, Berlin, Manchester, Middlesbrough, and Barnsley, for which he won the 2003 Architect’s Journal Award for Architecture. 
 
Will follows a parallel path as an artist, feeling that it is a discipline inseparable from architecture. A tutor of sculpture at Central St. Martins College of Art & Design in London for several years, Will has also held many other academic posts and actively promotes the artistic contribution to the built environment.
 
In 2000, Will Alsop won the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize and in 2003 the Civic Trust Award for the Peckham Library. In 2004 he was the winner of the RIB A World Architecture Award for the Sharp Centre of Design of the Ontario College of Art & Design. Will was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and was elected to the Royal Academy. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of  Arts and is a member of the Royal Institute

 

Je Ahn, Studio Weave

Je Ahn

Je is co-director of art and architecture practice, Studio Weave. The Hackney-based practice was set up in 2006 and its ethos is to couple a joyful, open-minded approach with technical precision and craftsmanship. Projects range from furniture and exhibition design, to shelters and buildings, to urban planning and landscapes. Studio Weave's work has been acknowledged by a number of awards including the Architectural Review’s International Emerging Architecture Awards; the Civic Trust Awards where The Longest Bench won the Special Award for Community Impact and Engagement; and most recently the 2013 RIBA Awards where the Ecology of Colour won the South East Building of the Year. 

 

Lucy Spencer, INTERIOR - iD

Lucy Spencer

Lucy currently manages the Operations and Marketing of the high end Joinery company, INTERIOR- iD. She has spent over 10 years working in the luxury end of furniture and interior design in London and has a great interest in craft and design.

After 4 years in furniture sales at LINLEY she became Business Manager at the award winning interior design practice Keech Green in 2006 (Super yacht Awards for the 47m yacht, 'Blind Date')

Here, she established their offices in Chelsea Harbour, taking charge of operations and PR for 5 years as well as managing residential projects internationally, including apartments in Geneva, Monaco and London.

Renée Mascari, KBB National Training Group

Renee Mascari

Renée has had a successful career as an interior designer in both the commercial and residential sectors for the past 35 years with specific focus on kitchen design and subsequently went on to became a college lecturer in Interior Design. Currently Director of ‘Mascari’ Design Studio, Nottingham.

Renée was honoured to be appointed CEO of the Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom National Training Groupeight years ago with a remit to develop training and education for the KBB sector. More recently Renée was appointed to the strategic board of the National School of Furniture, New Bucks University and was delighted to be installed as a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers in 2012.

 

Andy MacFee, Scott Brownrigg Architects

Andy MacFee
Andy is a highly talented and respected architect who has provided extensive guidance and leadership to design teams, clients and students over his 20 year career.
 
After graduating from the Bartlett with Distinction in 1993 he joined Alsop and Stormer Architects where he worked on various high profile projects including being Project Architect for Peckham Library that won the Stirling Prize in 2000.
 
From 2001 Andy jointly ran and owned Surface Architects for over ten years. He helped develop them into a leading award-winning practice, with projects such as Birkbeck Film and Media Studies and Lockkeepers Graduate Centre. His practice achieved success in the Young Architect of the Year competition and the 40 Under 40 awards and exhibition. 
 
Andy then joined Proctor and Matthews Architects as Director, broadening the practices profile in the education, commercial and leisure sectors. This included various projects in the south east of England and in India.
 
Andy has also undertaken a number of consultancy appointments. In 2013 he was made RIBA Client Design Advisor to the LSE for their new £60M Global Centre for the Social Sciences building. From 2009 to 2011 he was Design Champion and Enabler for Hull’s Building Schools for the Future programme. He has also taught architecture and design at UCA Canterbury, University of Sheffield and been visiting critic at the Bartlett, Glasgow Mackintosh and University of Kent. 
 
Most recently, Andy has been appointed Project Director at Scott Brownrigg Architects. He is based in their London office responsible for design in the education, commercial and mixed-use sectors.
