Now in their 6th year, the Surface Design Awards recognise progressive design and the use of innovative surfaces in projects both in the UK and internationally.

94 projects located in 10 different countries entered the 2017 Awards with 33 of those projects named as finalists by the judges. 45% of the finalists were located outside the UK.

The fabulous Broad Museum in Los Angeles was named as the Supreme Winner. Designed by Arup/Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, The Broad also came out as the joint winner of the Light + Surfaces category. The judges described it as “awe-inspiring space, seamless with a clever use of light & form”.
