Jonathan Hagos, Freehaus

Jonathan Hagos is a director of Freehaus, a growing RIBA chartered practice dedicated to putting people at the core of their outputs, to design spaces accessible to all.

Jonathan is an RIBA Conservation Registrant and has built his experience upon the delivery of sensitive design interventions to historic contexts across the country and abroad. He has taught across various UK universities and is an External Examiner at Oxford Brookes University.

Jonathan sits on the Quality Review Panel for the London Legacy Development Corporation and the Hackney Regeneration Design Advisory Group and in 2020 was named as one of the Architects’ Journal’s 40 under 40.

Jonathan holds a BSc and Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett, UCL before qualifying as an Architect from Westminster University with Distinction in 2012. His career began at Squire and Partners, before working with Cj Lim/Studio 8, Studio Cullinan and Buck, and Calderon Folch in Barcelona.

Jonathan also led the production design for award-winning feature film, Simshar, highlighting the plight of refugees across the Mediterranean which was long-listed for best foreign film at the American Academy Awards.
