Mama’s Bricks is a London-based design studio specialising in custom ceramic bricks for interior design and architecture. Founded by artist and multidisciplinary designer Vanessa Soria Lima, the studio creates handcrafted ceramic elements that bring character, texture, and individuality to architectural spaces.

The project originated from Vanessa’s personal experience growing up in a hot, humid climate, where heat and lack of ventilation strongly shaped everyday life. This lived experience became the starting point for exploring how ceramics could be used architecturally to improve comfort through natural light and ventilation.

Mama’s Bricks introduces a level of character and individuality that mass-produced materials cannot replicate. Each brick is handmade using terracotta and ceramic glazes, resulting in subtle variations in form, surface, and colour. The collection focuses on bespoke design, offering architects and interior designers the opportunity to create unique surfaces tailored to each project.

Designed as modular components, the bricks can be used for feature walls, partitions, screens, and decorative architectural elements. Their sculptural forms and openings allow light and air to pass through, enhancing spatial atmosphere while adding visual depth and material richness.

Mama’s Bricks is particularly suited to high-end hospitality and residential projects, where craftsmanship, material quality, and distinctive finishes are essential. Produced in small batches in London, the studio works closely with designers and architects to develop custom shapes, patterns, and colours that respond to the identity and needs of each space.
