EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT - TILE OF SPAIN
Visit Stand 401 to see an impressive offering from leading Spanish tile manufacturers at London’s Business Design Centre, 7th - 9th February 2023
Tile of Spain returns to the Surface Design Show with an inspiring display of the finest and freshest offerings in ceramic and porcelain. The voice of the Spanish tile industry, which is renowned for its inimitable heritage and pioneering attitude, Tile of Spain represents over 100 manufacturers at the cutting edge of tile design.
Trendwatchers should keep an eye out for the latest colour, pattern and textural themes together with valuable technical advances. As well as fascinating aesthetic variety, Spanish manufacturers are leaders in sustainability, hygiene and special solutions for specific applications and sectors. Tiles for both residential and commercial spaces, and for interior and exterior environments, will be on show with representatives on hand to share their expertise.
From colourful ceramic wall tiles in a range of formats and finishes, to terrazzo and cement effect porcelain, from decorative pieces for creating graphic drama to luxe stone-like slabs for cladding large areas, the range of options is vivid and extensive.
Technical solutions include extruded porcelain tiles for 3D effects; countertop versions of marble-look slabs for a cohesive aesthetic, plus tiles with curved ridges in varying radii to enable an interplay of light and shadow. Traditional looks are not forgotten, however, also on stand will be smaller format tiles for mosaic effects and striking patterns that echo the classical tiles for which Spain is famous.
Looks to look out for:
RIDGES & RELIEFS
Natucer – Salsa, Peronda – Castello, Tau - Gredos
Tiles have always offered a pleasing sense of texture and depth, now advanced manufacturing techniques add an extra touch of visual and dimensional drama.
Collections from innovative brands such as Natucer and Tau feature rippling effects in various colours and sizes, while renowned pioneer Peronda offers a series of brick-type pieces with an aperture that allows for high-impact screen installations.
Togama – Sixties Diamond, Adex – Habitat, El Barco – Kendal + Olympia
The versatility of tiles means that simply in the way they are fitted, distinctive effects can be created. Spanish tiles are taking this potential several steps further with collections that have an inherent geometry and aesthetic ingenuity. The variety of elements from Adex allows for endless variations in alignment while El Barco and Togama present patterns that create an enchanting playfulness in interior design.
Argenta – Opera Venezia, Vives – Luna, Argenta - Goldoni
A perennial favourite in flooring, both for its forgiving nature and ease of application, Terrazzo has returned to interiors with stunning success. Now its speckled effects can be found on stylish wall tiles too, and in a variety of tempting nougat looks. Argenta and Vives, Spanish manufacturers at the forefront of chic creativity, will display their latest aggregate style designs.
For all the magnificence of marble but in non-porous, easy-care, precision slabs or parquet style pieces, Spanish brands make it easy to apply timelessly classical elegance to contemporary interiors – and in cohesive yet subtly distinctive ways. Golden caramel veins are the latest theme from brands such as Peronda, while Dune offers ceramic pieces in tones to match its stone-look slabs, while Monopole presents its striking Elements series.
Monopole – Elements, Dune – Agadir (+Baikal), Peronda - Praline
TRADITION WITH A TWIST
Gayafores - Altea, Cevica – Habana, Dune - Victorian + Flat
From the glory of the Alhambra to the whitewashed houses of hillside villages, the patterned tile speaks instantly of Spain. This heritage is revisited in hi-tech form by manufacturers keen to pay homage while offering the ideal modern solution. The latest designs from brands such as Cevica, Dune and Gayafores feature fascinating repeating effects that impress with their dynamic beauty.
Tile of Spain looks forward to welcoming visitors to stand 401 at London’s Business Design Centre from the 7th to the 9th of February, 2023.
