Designed as customisable backdrops for modern spaces, the collections combine illustrative, graphic patterns with a strong sense of narrative, bringing depth, movement and individuality to both residential and commercial environments.

The brand’s aesthetic is rooted in contemporary design, with confident compositions inspired by nature, landscapes and organic forms, balanced by a playful graphic language. Each design is intended to respond to architecture, working at scale to enhance spatial experience while remaining adaptable across full walls, alcoves, shelving or as framed artworks.

At the core of No Rules Wallpaper is a radical rethinking of how wallpaper is used and installed. By removing the need for traditional pattern matching, the brand replaces rigidity with freedom. Designs are created to be installed intuitively, cut directly from the roll and paste as you go, with no alignment required. This flexible system allows every installation to be unique, shaped by the user rather than by rules.

This approach also delivers a zero-waste solution. With no pattern repeat to match, there are no offcuts and fewer rolls are needed to achieve a striking result. Every part of the roll can be used, reducing material waste while maximising creative potential. Installation is simple and efficient, making the product as practical as it is visually impactful.

Alongside its core collections, No Rules Wallpaper offers bespoke and customisable solutions for architects, interior designers and commercial clients. Selected designs can be colour-matched and adapted to suit specific schemes, enabling a tailored response to place, function and identity. Working with a placemaking-led approach, patterns are developed to integrate seamlessly into interior and exterior environments, becoming embedded elements of the space rather than surface decoration.

Collaboration plays a key role in the brand’s work, including partnerships such as Zentia, where biophilic-inspired patterns are paired with acoustic products to create environments that support well-being, comfort and productivity through both visual and sensory design.

No Rules Wallpaper is a creative venture by Glasgow-based design studio Bespoke Atelier, founded by Yvonne Elliott-Kellighan and Marion Parola-Campbell, who met while studying at the Glasgow School of Art. For 15 years, the studio has blended art and architecture to create patterned surfaces inspired by people, place and purpose.
