Subbera Cork

Stand: 273
Suberra Cork is an ultra-high-density, sustainable surface material made from 100% post-industrial recycled cork grain compressed into dense slabs with minimal binder. Cork is a rapidly renewable resource sourced from the bark of Quercus suber oak trees, harvested by hand without harming the tree, making it exceptionally eco-friendly and long-lasting.

Suberra combines cork’s natural performance with design versatility. Its closed-cell structure is impermeable, water- and stain-resistant, naturally antimicrobial, and hypoallergenic, while its fine cellular makeup also offers notable sound-dampening properties. These qualities make it suitable for worktops, countertops, tables, benches, furniture elements and wall applications in both residential and commercial interiors.

Warm to the touch and visually rich in subtle texture, Suberra gives designers a unique alternative to traditional wood and solid surfaces. It machines easily with standard woodworking tools and can be finished or left in its natural state depending on aesthetic and performance needs.

As part of the MTRL Library, Suberra Cork allows specifiers and designers to experience its tactile warmth, acoustic benefit and sustainable story firsthand. Its inclusion supports early-stage material exploration rooted in environmental integrity, circular principles and thoughtful surface design—making cork a compelling choice for projects that value wellbeing, texture and long-term performance.
