Opening Night Debate

Climate change and future proofing

To ‘welcome everyone back’ to Surface Design Show, we will be hosting a topical and thought provoking Opening Night Debate as the highlight of our first evening on Tuesday 8 February.

In partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and located on our Main Stage, the Debate will focus on Climate Change and Future Proofing.

Hosted by Simon Sturgis, Founder of Target Zero, the Debate will bring together a younger generation of architects, designers and clients to interact with our audience and discuss the biggest environmental challenges that we face today.

How do we ensure that projects designed and implemented today are future proofed against climate change? We will explore not only the issues around the future durability and adaptability of current projects, but also how we can ensure that the commercial value of projects can be future-proofed against climate change.
